In this guide:
How much does Smalls Cat Food cost?
The average price of a trial box of Smalls fresh cat food is $35 (with no add-ons). This price reflects the free shipping and 25% discount Smalls offers on your first box.
The trial box will provide around 28 meals (two weeks of food) depending on how much your cat eats. You’ll get to test out all three of Smalls’ fresh recipes, as well as both the smooth and ground textures. This should give you a good idea of which recipes and textures your cat prefers, so you can adjust your subscription to reflect these choices.
After your first box, you’ll receive larger, monthly shipments. The exact cost will depend on how much food you order, the type of food, and any add-ons you choose.
Below are the monthly plan minimums. These prices do not include shipping or tax:
|Food type||Min. price||Amount|
|Fresh (wet) food||$108 per month||12 wet-food packs|
|Freeze-dried raw (dry)||$72–$120 per month||4 bags of freeze-dried raw food|
|Dry & wet||$126–$138 per month||12 wet food packs and 1 bag of dry food|
Smalls cat food price by ounce
If you want to take a closer look, we broke down the price of each food type per ounce.
- Fresh: $0.78/oz.
- Freeze-Dried Raw: $1.83/oz.
- Kibble: $1.75/oz.
It’s worth pointing out here that certain food types, such as the freeze-dried raw, pack more protein and calories into fewer ounces since the moisture is removed. However, fresh food is still our top recommendation.
How much are add-ons?
Smalls offers a number of subscription add-ons you can add to or remove from your subscription at will. The prices below reflect their full price, but you may periodically be able to get them at a discount.

- Crochet catnip toys: $7.50/toy or $21 for a pack of three
- Odor-eliminating silica litter: $18/bag
